Beast Predator pre workout is one of those pre workouts that I’ve always wanted to try, and so now that I’ve FINALLY tried it, I’m so excited to finally share it with you. Beast is the pretty blue company that you’ve probably seen a hundred times in GNC and other various supplement shops, and I honestly have no idea how it’s taken me this long to get around to posting a review on one of their products. Beast Predator was such an obvious choice for me because it’s a pre workout (obviously), and as the world’s TOP pre workout review site, I figured, um, this is the obvious choice. Wow Allie, you really are being profound this evening. Lol. Don’t worry, I’ll pick up my game as this Beast Predator pre workout ramps up. And by ramping up- here’s what I mean. We’ll start by talking about the packaging. That’s right- we’re doing this pre workout ONION style- that’s like ‘animal’ style at In ’n Out except it refers to the format of this review and not delicious melted cheese and mushrooms. So. Onion style. We’ll talk packaging, then formula, then taste, and lastly, performance. So if you want to know if Beast Predator works, you’ve gotta stay with me for the long haul. I know you can do it. Let’s get this Beast Predator Review started.
I’m going to skip (most of) the dilly-dally in this evenings review, because I’m literally starving and I want something to eat. I’m so so hungry. Seriously. Get me to Whole Foods STAT. Time to jump into the meat of the review right away so I can go get some of that yummy hot bar in me. As promised, we’re going to start with packaging. Enjoy the review everyone! If you enjoy reading it, please do hit me up on FB, Twitter, and Google Plus. I do appreciate it very much. Thanks!
Beast Predator Packaging Grade: 9.4
Beast Sports Nutrition knows the way to my heart. And no- Beast Sports did not send me a $5,000 Chipotle gift card. (Wait, how is THAT the first thing I thought of as a way to my heart?!). LOL. No. Burritos aside. The way to my heart, at least from a color standpoint – is through the color blue. Blue. Blue. And more blue. I love this color immensely. In fact, I’ve mentioned Beast sports in several of my other reviews but not in reference to any of their products on a performance or formulation level, but rather on a packaging level. This color has become their signature and it’s really quite stunning. I really, really like it. But their excellence in packaging goes beyond just using a lovely color. beast also knows how to put together a darn good looking label.
From the fonts, to the copy, to the layout- this label is beautiful. There is clear hierarchy- meaning your eye is guided across the various information from the Beast logo, to the stylish ‘B’ graphic, to the pre workout name ‘PREDATOR’ to the little icons that hint at the product’s purpose. Everything about it is fantastic. They use a good amount of negative space, but since that space is filled by brilliant blue, it still looks great. I love BEAST Sports products from an appearance standpoint: I really do. Let’s talk about the formulation now.
Beast Predator Pre Workout Formula Grade: 8.5
I get this question all the time, and it’s actually the question that led me to do this review: Can women take Beast Predator Pre Workout? And the answer is, yes, absolutely. I wish I could’ve recorded the phone call that I had with bodybuilding.com when I was inquiring this same thing. It was pure comedy. She had no idea what to say. She basically turned the tables and asked ME why I thought there was any reason to believe I couldn’t. I told her it was because the name was Beast and I thought it was not a women’s pre workout. But this pre workout is just fine for women. Here are the ingredients:
Carnosyn Beta Alanine
Snake Root Powder
Bahaha. Snake Root Powder? I still laugh every time I see that. There is literally no other ingredient in all my pre workout for women reviews that I have ever found so much pleasure in presenting to you. The Beast Predator Pre Workout literally contains SNAKE OIL. I mean Snake Root. Isn’t it the SAME THING? Lol. No. I’m sure snake root serves some sort of performance-enhancing purpose right? Riiight. No chance. I think it’s so funny though.
Other than the snake oil, you have yourself a really pretty basic pre workout formulation. This is their creatine-free pre workout, which is why I chose this one instead of their more popular pre workout, Creature. This pre workout gives the energy from caffeine, DMAE, and huperzine A. And then snake oil powder. Lol. Too much. I can’t even. Let’s talk taste now.
Beast Predator Pre Workout Flavor Grade: 8.8
I actually got to try two of the three flavors of Predator- Beast Punch, Pink Lemonade, and Blue Raspberry. Of COURSE Beast makes a blue raspberry. Lol. So the two that I got to try were the Beast punch and the pink lemonade. I really don’t care that much for blue raspberry. The best flavor of Beast Predator has to be the Beast Punch. Not to be confused with ‘beet punch’ LOL. Here are my thoughts on each of the two flavors that I tried:
Pink Lemonade: This is a super basic interpretation of pink lemonade. You really already know what you’re getting from this flavor. It mixes up the exact color you are envisioning, and then it tastes exactly how you imagine. It’s tart. It’s sweet. And it’s pretty good. I didn’t call my Mom and tell her I was in love after drinking this flavor of Beast Predator pre workout, but I’d drink it again for sure.
Beast Punch: Not to be confused with beet punch. Beet punch would be nasty wouldn’t it? I actually don’t really think it would be. Beets are tasty. Beet punch probably wouldn’t be so popular with the masses though. Plus, Beast Beet Punch is a bit of a tongue twister, ain’t it? Beast punch is basically fruit punch though, in case you were wondering. There are only a few things that I would rather have in my mouth than Beast Punch, and let me tell you why. This is maybe the best tasting version of fruit punch I’ve had this year. I’ve probably had ten different variations of fruit punch since Jan. 1st, and this is the BEST. It has a hint more citrus than I am used to, and I think that’s what really sets it apart. It’s DARN good. If you are getting some Beast Predator- you have to get Beast Punch, it goes without saying. But now the real fun begins. SHOULD you get this pre workout? Does Beast Predator work?
Beast Predator Pre Workout Performance Grade: 8.4
Hm. So the lowest grade on any single element of this pre workout has to be on the performance. I took it this afternoon and I think it didn’t really kick the same way that some of my other pre workouts do/have. I’ve actually been back on the C4 train- and that pre workout has REALLY worked magic for me. I think they reformulated it since I did my original Cellucor C4 review, but it’s even better now.
Beast is not BAD performance-wise, so don’t get me wrong. I had an OK workout. I think the initial energy is nice. The first 30-35 minutes of your workout will be quite good. I did my ab and hamstring circuit thing, and I was really flying high. Once I got a good sweat going, I was tearing through the leg raises and hamstring curls like a BEAST.
But as the workout progressed, I really sort of felt the performance start to wane a little bit faster than what I am used to. This pre workout hits you right in the mouth at the beginning, but needs a better endurance element in my opinion. Were there a few variables that could’ve contributed to this sort of ‘crashed’ effect? Sure. I probably didn’t eat enough today. But that hasn’t stopped some of the other pre workouts from lighting a four-hour fire under my butt. The Beast Predator pre workout works ok, but it’s not going to be in our top ten pre workouts for 2017, unless I review only stinkers from here on out.
Beast Predator Review Summary
- Beast Predator Pre Workout Packaging Grade: 9.4
- Beast Predator Pre Workout Formula Grade: 8.5
- Beast Predator Pre Workout Flavor Grade: 8.8
- Beast Predator Pre Workout Performance Grade: 8.4
- Beast Predator Pre Workout Value Grade: 8.8
At a dollar per serving- Predator is priced fairly, so I’ll give it a high ‘B’ on that criteria. I think it needs some work in some areas to make it a really exceptional product, but it’s adequate as is. I give Beast Predator the FLA stamp of approval. It’s a solid pre workout for women.*
