Today is a very special day because I’m going to talk about one of my favorite new products on the market. The product is called Pre Jym, and while it might be most formulated exactly for women, this is the product that I’ve personally been taking for a few weeks now and I have to say- I freaking love it. I don’t think I’ll be submitting it as an official BPW nominee but I wanted to give it a full review so that you can know of it’s awesomeness.

Jim Stoppani is one of the most respected and knowledgable figures in the supplement industry today. Pre Jym is the manifestation of his extensive background in the business, and is the main reason why I gave it a try in the first place. All too often the products that come across are just the same crap with different labels. Stoppani realized that he could differentiate himself by actually putting some scientific knowledge into his products. And this is what happens when you do:

Pre Jym Performance Grade: 9.8

Wow. That’s all I can say. This stuff took me to a whole new place in the gym. It wasn’t just mental. It was like my entire body was plugged into an electrical outlet. I felt unstoppable in the gym. There are a few times when you are in there where there is no doubt in your mind that you will be able to complete every rep, on every set, with the strictest form. But that’s how I felt. I’ll tell you more about why this happens in the supplement facts deep dive, but I have to share this feeling with you. Let’s back up a little bit to the flavor review though and build up to the workout itself.

What’s the Best Flavor of Pre-Jym?

The best flavor of Pre Jym is Cherry Limeade. This stuff tastes fantastic, even though it tastes almost nothing like cherry or lime. I have sampled both flavors and can go into a little bit more detail so that you can understand the flavor profiles of each.

  • Cherry Limade: Is the best tasting pre workout I have ever tried. I mixed one full scoop (they are some BIG scoops by the way). Into about 12 ounces of water. The powder doesn’t mix that well on first go around, but once you stick with it, the ingredients do actually end up dissolving pretty completely. The first sip is an explosion of taste. To me this cherry limeade interpretation is much more of a sour tropical punch. I don’t know how else to describe it. The color is bright bright red and it really does bring you back to the days of Hawaiin Punch. There’s almost no lime taste to speak of, but who cares. The sweetness and tartness makes this flavor of Pre Jym the best. Highly recommended.
  • Raspberry Lemonade: This flavor is also really tasty. I don’t like it quite as much as the cherry limeade, but I like it enough to buy a whole tub of it for myself so that I can have it to alternate with the cherry limeade. This flavor is also super sweet, and has some sourness to balance it out. The raspberry lemonade is also different from the cherry limeade because this flavor actually does taste like raspberries and lemons. In fact it’s quite an authentic representation of each. If you’ve ever had homemade raspberry lemonade this is basically exactly what it tastes like. Love it.

Ok so let me tell you about the workout I had with Pre Jym. You have to keep in mind that I’ve taken almost every pre workout under the sun, so even though I had high hopes for ‘Jym’, I wasn’t anticipating the shockwave of pre workout perfection that was to follow. I took a full scoop of the cherry limeade flavor about twenty minutes before my workout. I enjoyed every sip of this amazing pre workout drink. I can’t remember the last time I was this upset that my pre workout was gone. Honestly, trust me when I tell you that this is the best-tasting pre workout on the market.

I knew that I had to lift after taking Pre Jym. Cardio wasn’t going to cut it. No, there was only one exercise that would fit the bill today. And you’ve read my other reviews. Yep. Back squats. For the second day in a row. I had so much energy and focus that I KNEW I could hammer out rep after rep despite still being moderately sore from the day before. I decided to do a good old fashioned pyramid set scheme starting with moderate weight and high reps- progressing into low reps with heavy weight. I loaded up the bar and got started with some sets of 15.

And here’s where Pre Jym started to make it’s presence felt. The light sets felt spectacular. The weight felt light- but not as the product of a crazy stimmed-out rage (think ‘Craze’ or ‘Jack3d’). Jim Stoppani’s product just made me feel stronger than I’ve ever felt. I can’t really compare the feeling to any other pre workout that I’ve ever taken.

As I loaded up the weight and got into my heavier sets- things only got better. Did I struggle with my last few sets of four? Sure. But I hit Every. Rep. Clean. And I even added an extra set at the end. I was so euphoric after my workout with Pre Jym because I knew I had performed better than I ever had. And you know what that means? It means my muscles would need to recover in a way they never had before. And that’s what pre workout supplements are all about. Allowing you to push your limits every day so that your body has to adapt and evolve for the better.

Pre Jym just plain old works. Let’s take a look at the supplement facts and see if we can identify how Jim outsmarted the industry with his formulation.

Pre Jym Supplement Facts and Formula Grade: 9.5

How can you knock Jim Stoppani on formulating? The guy is a borderline genius and his product rocked my world in the ‘Jym’. (LOL). So what’s in Pre-Jym? Here is the list:

  • Creatine
  • Beta Alanine
  • Betaine
  • Taurine
  • Alpha GPLC
  • Citrulline Malate
  • Beet Extract
  • BCAAs
  • Tyrosine
  • Caffeine
  • Huperzine A
  • Bioperine

Now that’s a line-up! The creatine and beta-alanine work together with the betaine to provide the feelings of just pure strength and also provide the endurance aspect. Taurine, caffeine, and tyrosine get your mind in mood right, while the BCAA’s provide the final layer of endurance and even help you muscles start to adapt during your workout. I literally have nothing bad to say about this formula. I mean it was formulated by a guy with a doctorate from UCONN and studied molecular physiology at Yale. He knows his stuff more than I do!

Can Women Take Pre Jym?

Ok here’s a million dollar question. Seeing as I’m doing a Pre Jym review on my best pre workout for women, you bet your butt girls can take Pre Jym. But. Always a but. Keep in mind that there are two ingredients in here that are going to puff you up a little bit. I’ll be honest with you I don’t take Pre Jym after Monday or Tuesday because you really do take on a more saturated and full look. It’s unavoidable because creatine absolutely increases your water retention levels. And it doesn’t just do that in your glutes or your quads. It will make your entire appearance a little more bloated. I’ve found that the effect goes away after about 48 hours so it’s definitely still worth taking for the amazing workouts- just time it so that you aren’t out on the weekends looking huge.

Pre Jym Packaging Grade: 8.2

Here’s where Jym could use a little bit of help. This all black packaging and black themed label are not exactly my favorite in terms of appearance. It’s not a bad looking product, but there is plenty of room for improvement. I guess we could start with the name itself. Pre Gym would make sense. Pre Jym just doesn’t to me. Apparently when you flip the word ‘Jym’ upside down you get ‘war’, which, sure I guess that’s…kinda cool? But is it cool enough to name your product something that ugly and weird sounding? Jym? Is it pronounced ‘Jim’ or ‘Jime’? Very bizarre. As far as the other elements of the label I’m not really sure what else to say. It’s black and has some green accents and some sort of grid pattern thing in the background.

In a weird way though, it sort of fits that Pre Jym have a weird name and a sort of ugly package. It helps reinforce the fact that this product wasn’t made to be the flashy dress on the rack- hoping the youngsters convince their Mom to buy it for them. This is an adults pre workout supplement and I hope after reading this review you’ll give it a try.

Pre Jym Final Score: 9.7
