I couldn’t find any Luxe Protein Reviews on the entire internet before I went to buy a tub of their fat burning protein, so I think you’ll probably get at least some good insight from mine. And by probably, I mean definitely. And by definitely I mean one thousand percent you will enjoy this Luxe Fitness Fat Burning Protein Powder Review. In this review, as with ALL my other protein powder reviews that you’ve read and loved (just kidding you probably have never read any of them), I will talk about three main things. The first of them is the flavor. I was super excited to see whether Luxe protein could hang with some of the big time players and I’ll give you the full rundown in just a second. The other two things we’ll talk about is formulation and packaging. The ingredients and looks are just as important as the taste. So. We’re basically going to peel back the layers on Luxe Fitness protein in this review and tell you precisely whether it is a success or a failure. Ready? Me too. Let the Luxe reviews begin.
Luxe protein powder is the latest and greatest Instagram sensation and you better believe once a product starts blowing up my Instagram feed I HAVE to get my hands on some and try it. So that’s exactly what I did. Well. Not really. I conned bae into buying me some Lol. What a guy. In just a few days I had my tub of Luxe Fitness Fat Burning Protein in hand and ready to drink. Let me begin with the taste.
What’s the Best Flavor of Luxe Protein?
There are three flavors of Luxe Protein. There’s a:
- vanilla
- chocolate
- vegan vanilla
I have only tried one of them so I actually have no idea what the best flavor is. But I can certainly give you a clue as to what you can expect from the Vegan Vanilla and Chocolate Luxe Protein flavors.
SO. I have a full tub of the vanilla Luxe Protein. I gently unscrewed the lid and pulled back the safety seal, breathing in the aromas of the protein powder as it wafted up towards my nose. The notes that came to me first were of, well, just normal protein powder with artificial vanilla flavor. Which was weird because just looking at the tub you get the sense that it is very natural. I mean. The label is faux-marble for crying out loud! Lol. But back to taste:
I mixed a scoop of Vanilla Luxe Protein into about 10 ounces of skim milk…that’s right…I was setting this thing up for the BEST possible chance for success. Milk usually bolsters any protein in terms of taste, so I definitely gave them the best chance to wow me. I threw in a few ice cubes, and put my blender to work. The familiar whir and hum always puts a smile on my face as my taste buds prepare for the delicious treat to come.
Sigh. And that’s where the romantic story unfortunately ends. My first sip of Luxe Fitness told me all that I needed to know about this protein. In fact, I’ve had this protein before. Somewhere. Somehow. And I can’t even remember where or when but I swear I’ve had this EXACT formulation. It’s just not all that great people. It’s just another average artificial-tasting protein powder.
Keep in mind MY palette is disgustingly compromised after all I’ve tried the best-tasting protein powders in the WORLD so of course just another basic vanilla is just NOT going to impress me, no matter how cutesy the packaging is. So. I’ll give it a B minus on taste but don’t expect to be blown away.
Is Luxe Protein Powder Good for You?
Supplements are supposed to supplement your diet and make you healthier. And while there are a few things I don’t LOVE about Luxe Fitness Fat Burning Protein, I do like the fact that the macros, as the should be, are on point. Very low sugar, high in protein, and with added L-Carnitine and BCAA’s make this protein a little bit more attractive than something a little more basic. EXCEPT. There is only 100mg of L-Carnitine in here. And 100mg of green tea extract. That is just not going to do anything for you from a fat burning perspective, I’m sorry. BUT. The added BCAA in Luxe Protein is a nice touch and at 7 grams that actually is a nice amount.
I think using a whey isolate would make this product more attractive to me, but at least it is whey and not soy or some other low end protein. I don’t know how much of a benefit using ’New Zealand’ protein is versus some other country (I prefer a US whey if I had to choose), but, some people will probably be impressed by the sound of it I guess. In terms of the drawbacks of Luxe Fitness Fat Burning Protein Powder, the only one that sticks out to me is using artificial flavors and sweeteners, which, like I said before, seems just a little bit misleading on the part of Luxe Fitness, who is clearly trying to create a ‘minimalist’ and ‘natural’ feel to the brand. So to use artificial ingredients doesn’t rub me the right way. They even use artificial sweetener in their Vegan protein Lol. Like. What’s the point of even having Vegan protein if you’re going to use artificial sweetener? Legit all my vegan friends would rather get hit by a bus than drink Vegan protein powder with sucralose in it.
Luxe Fitness Packaging is Unique But Not My Style.
I do give Luxe Fitness props for doing something different from a packaging standpoint, but, as the saying goes, ‘different is not always better’. And unfortunately for Luxe Fitness, that is the situation we find ourselves in. If you go on the Luxe website and browse around, you’ll see scantily clad ladies with fancy cars and purses. Objectification, anyone? Like. Come on Luxe. What even is this branding? It’s so trashy! And to critique the actual packaging, there is a marble texture as the background of the product. Which just looks strange. I feel like it’s some sort of gimmicky cosmetics brand. I just really don’t like it. The only cool thing that I give Luxe credit for is the Luxe Fitness fonts are nice, and the degree of minimalism is really extreme, in a way that very few brands will dare venture. I think Luxe gets credit for that, even if the overall aesthetic doesn’t vibe with my preferences.
Luxe Fitness Protein Review Summary
This is an interesting new brand for sure, and it will be interesting to see where Luxe goes with this new concept. OH. You know what? THAT is what it reminds me of!! Women’s Best! I think the clear jar and aluminum lid thing is just like Women’s Best! I wonder if it is the same company behind the scenes. I sort of bet it is. Either Women’s Best or Protein World. Mark my words. But. Yeah. Luxe will be fun to watch. I don’t think the old ‘pay naked ladies’ strategy will work out so well for them because I think folks are getting tired of that game. And at the end of the day, judging from the Luxe Fitness protein, the products are not that great either. But I’ll give it an 8 out of 10. The macros are fine and the price point, while maybe a little bit too expensive, is not ridiculous like some of them are. And that’s really it for this Luxe Protein Review. Hope that helped!*
