I didn’t think I’d ever actually do a Blackstone Labs Dust pre workout review, but, alas, here we are. It seems the hardcore supplement company Blackstone has certainly started to get somewhat of a foothold among the folks in the industry, and as is such, I knew I had to get my hands on some. At first I was intimidated, but after reminding myself that this pre workout just CAN’T be even more hardcore than some of the pre workouts that I’ve tried, I pulled myself together and bought a tub. So in this review I’ll tell you what I think of the product, from top to bottom. I’ll talk about the flavors, the formula, the performance, and of course the packaging of the DUST V2 pre workout. Is Blackstone going to be in our running for best pre workouts in the new year? You can be assured I was more eager than any to find out. Let’s get this Blackstone Dust Pre Workout Review started.
Blackstone Labs. It just sounds intimidating. It sounds hardcore. It conjures the underground bodybuilding scene. The steroid guys. And gals. The folks that we are not like. Or at least I’m not like. Lol. But after the fifth person emailed me asking about Dust V2, I did take the plunge and grab a tub for myself. In just about a week’s time, I was able to get my greedy little paws on it. I ripped it open and immediately started smelling, feeling, and getting really well acquainted with this pre workout. Let’s start with the taste first.
Does Blackstone Labs DUST Pre Workout Taste Good?
Great question. And I have a great answer for you. Not really. Lol. Seriously. It’s a pre workout that tastes pretty bitter to be honest. I think there is plenty of sweetness. But there’s just not very much FLAVOR. The flavor that I tried is called ‘Blue Sky’. Which apparently is supposed to be some sort of blue raspberry flavor judging from the name and the bright blue color of the pre workout. But I don’t think it tasted very much like blue raspberries. I wanted it to taste like a melted snow cone, and it really doesn’t. Rather it tastes like just plain old artificial sweetener. I know they do have four other flavors of this stuff, so maybe those other ones taste better. But I can personally advise AGAINST blue sky. Not very good. Drinkable, for sure. And I HAVE tried worse. But don’t go into it thinking you’re getting a really tasty pre workout. So taste is ‘meh’. Does it work though?
Does Blackstone Labs DUST V2 Work?
Oh. Heck. Yes. This pre workout works QUITE well. I took a scoop of DUST v2 before my super tough leg workout consisting of lateral lunges, squats, normal lunges in the smith machine, and all being paired with overhead pressing. I know my shoulders have really lost some tone since my bike fall (not a good time, as you know), but it’s been feeling better to the point where I can get some light dumbbell work in.
With DUST V2 pre workout, that ‘light’ dumbbell work quickly turned into ‘heavy’ dumbbell work. I was CRUSHING 20 lb. dumbbells for high-repetition sets. That’s pretty heavy for little ‘ole Allie! The DUST pre workout by Blackstone hits hard for the early stages of your workout. Maybe even harder than half of last year’s BPW Top Ten pre workouts. It seriously gives a nice kick. The endurance is GOOD but not great, and the energy does wear a bit as you get closer to the 90 minute mark. But I have to say you have super hero energy for that 90 minute window. There isn’t much of a ‘pump’ effect to speak of, but I think they spent most of the space in here on energy. Let’s look into the supplement facts and see what is in here:
Blackstone Labs Dust Formula Facts Review:
I know a lot of you guys are going to get cranky when you hear this, but Blackstone is one of the few pre workouts that I’ve tried recently that use a totally proprietary blend. That means you don’t know quite how much of each ingredient is in the product. You have a really standard list when it comes to the ingredients themselves, but since they are all lumped into the ‘Blackstone Labs Dust V2 Blend’, you’ll never know how much of each is in there. But anyways, here are the ingredients:
- Beta Alanine
- L-Carnitine Tartrate
- Citrulline Malate
- N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine
- Velvet Bean Extract
- Di-Caffeine Malate
- Methyl Tyramine
- Yohimbe Bark
YIKES! You can see why I told you the main component in this pre workout is the energy. You can practically jump through the roof just LOOKING at the formula panel! I mean. Two kinds of caffeine. Noopept. Yohimbe. Hordenine. It’s like. Holy COW is that a stacked energy formulation. I seriously don’t know how safe it is to take that many stimulant ingredients at once. LOL. But if you are in the mood for a serious energy boost, than DUST V2 might be for you. The product is artificially flavored and sweetened. So I don’t know how HEALTHY this pre workout is…but…that’s not why we take pre workout, right? LOL. Let’s talk looks now, shall we?
Blackstone Labs DUST v2 Appearance Review
Blackstone Labs Dust pre workout looks kinda cool, not gona lie. I think as a chick I’m not supposed to be as attracted to this sort of ‘ripper’ them, complete with it’s storm clouds, lightning bolts, and demon graphics…but I just kind of like it anyways. I think the dark, ‘catwoman-reading’ little emo girl in me is just drawn to the darkness of it all. I like that they took a risk and made the pre workout match the theme of the product. They could’ve gone with something MUCH more conventional like all the Optimum products…or all the BPI products…but they didn’t. Blackstone is hardcore. And they made something that looks, and performs HARD. Props.
