Hello friends and welcome to my thorough, and hopefully helpful Dymatize ISO-100 protein powder review.
In this review I plan on telling you almost everything you could ever want to know about Dymatize Nutrition and it’s protein product.
Eh. Scratch that. I am going to tell you ABSOLUTELY everything you could ever want to know about ISO100 Hydrolyzed Protein Powder.
So buckle up those seatbelts and prepare yourself for my mega Dymatize protein flavor review masterpiece.
What You Can Expect in This Dymatize Review
The main thing you are going to hear about is flavor.
I’ll clear that up right from the get go.
I’m going to cover off on all ten of their most popular flavors.
Then I’m going to cover the formulation, the packaging, and the price point.
Lastly, I’ll cook all these different elements of ISO100 protein into one big Dymatize Nutrition ISO100 Protein review pie.
And feed it to you.
So open your mouth and let’s do this.
But first, a quick rundown on the monstrous Dymatize brand.
About Dymatize Nutrition
Dymatize is one of the largest supplement companies in the world right now.
So while many of my protein powder reviews feature the little guy…
This is not one of those times.
Dymatize is so dang big, that they actually collaborated with Dunkin’ freakin – Donuts.
I mean.
If that doesn’t give you a sense of how large and massive this protein behemoth is, then I don’t know what will.
Trust me – I love giving my time and energy to the little guys like Podium, or even Beam…
But sometimes you have to give credit where credit is due, and recognize that the huge companies often times make great products.
The reason being – these are the guys with the deep pockets.
They can afford to do the necessary research and development to actually make a great product.
Take Alani Nu, or even a company like 1st Phorm…
Their protein powders are honestly amazing.
They are big enough to put the money into making them amazing.

How I Found Out About Dymatize
Sometimes there’s a fun story about where I heard about a brand for the first time…
And sometimes there isn’t.
This is one of the latter situations.
I have no clue where I first heard about Dymatize – probably while browsing around some Vitamin Shoppe or GNC like twenty years ago.
Anyways.
Let’s start giving you what you came for.
You want to know if you should buy ISO-100 protein in the first place, and which FLAVOR of ISO100 protein to buy.
And we can’t really get to whether or not you should buy it until we flush out one key thing…
If it actually tastes good.
Does Dymatize ISO100 Protein Taste Good?
Great question, and thank you for asking.
And to cut straight to the chase – think this protein powder tastes pretty darn good.
You guys know I’ve reviewed literally hundreds of these protein powders over the past several years…
And I think the one thing you need to keep in mind is that nobody knows protein powders like I do.
I know these things inside and out.
So when I tell you this protein powder is pretty darn good, I really mean it.
The flavors are bold, sweet, and true to their name.
They remind me quite a bit of the Ryse Loaded Protein flavors, in the sense that they are very sweet, and very bold.
Sometimes a cookies and cream will be too vanilla-y, and just be more of a vanilla than anything…
This is not the case with Dymatize Nutrition. Overall these flavors are all really quite tasty, but what I want to do now, is go through each flavor in detail.
After sharing my tasting notes on each of these ten flavors, I’ll tell you which is my favorite.
Dymatize Protein Flavor Taste Test
So now it’s time to get into the fun part of the review.
As I mentioned, my husband and I blocked off literally an entire afternoon to review these ten Dymatize protein flavors.
We even had to send our kids off to the park with the babysitter, so that we didn’t get distracted.
Here are our tasting notes for each flavor, ranked from our favorite, to least favorite:
Taste Test Notes, by Flavor:
The best flavors, from best to worst, are here below. I’m going to list them in order of my favorite to least favorite, and give you a quick overview of the taste.
- Fruity Pebbles: This is the best-selling Dymatize protein flavor, and it’s easy to see why. It’s so sweet, so fruity, and so fun. We both adored this flavor because it reminded us of the actual cereal.
- Cocoa Pebbles: Surprisingly enough, our top two flavors were both of the ‘Pebbles’ cereal colabs, with the Cocoa Pebbles flavor being our second-favorite of all of them. This one was super chocolate-y, and also tasted just like the real cereal.
- Dunkin Glazed Donut: We were obsessed with this flavor because somehow it really does taste like you are drinking a blended up donut…but we both agreed it was too ‘specific’ of a flavor to make our top spot. It’s super good though.
- Cookies ‘n Cream: I think cookies ’n cream is a really difficult flavor to really NAIL down, but they’ve done a great job. Near perfect balance of cookies ’n cream. The texture is completely on point as well.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter: Another tricky one in my opinion, and one flavor that Dymatize Nutrition did a nice job with. This flavor has really authentic peanut butter taste, that I truly enjoy.
- Fudge Brownie: I was actually a big fan of this one, while my husband was not as much… but then again…I’m a bigger brownie fan than he is. If you love brownies, this flavor might be for you. It’s not a ‘jaw-dropper’ like some of our favorites, but it’s quite tasty.
- Strawberry: This flavor tastes exactly like what you expect it to – like a glass of fresh strawberry milk. It’s nothing to write home about, but I really enjoyed it as a fruity change of pace from some of the bigger, more ‘bold’ flavors.
- ‘Pebbles’ Birthday Cake: We weren’t expecting to like this flavor of ISO100 protein as much as we did, but it really does taste like vanilla cake. It’s super good. Not the best birthday cake flavor we’ve tried (that award goes to CBUM Itholate), but it’s really good.
- Gourmet Vanilla: It’s a testament to how good this protein really is that I have the vanilla listed so far down the list. I think this flavor, while basic, is still very tasty.
- Gourmet Chocolate: I thought this ISO100 protein flavor would be a little better to be honest with you. The flavor was a little bit more shallow than the others. Still very drinkable though if you prefer something a little more basic.
And there you have it- these are all of our tasting notes from testing these protein powders!
Just to recap…
What is the Best Flavor of Dymatize ISO-100 Hydrolyzed Protein?
Just like basically everyone else who has ever tried Dymatize ISO-100, we agreed that the Fruity Pebbles flavor was the best.
It has just the right combination of sweetness, smooth texture, and then that really fun fruity flavor to keep you coming back for more.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some fantastic options when it comes to the Dymatize protein menu..
The Cocoa Pebbles flavor is completely delicious…
And the Dunkin’ Donuts flavor is like nothing I’ve ever had (and I’ve reviewed a LOT of protein powders – trust me)…
But the best flavor of Dymatize protein is without a doubt the Fruity Pebbles flavor.

Now that we’ve gone over the flavors, there’s another important aspect to this product.
And that is in the ingredients themselves, and what is in this product.
So let’s take a minute to discuss the nutrition facts and ingredients.
Ingredients & Macros
Sometimes these protein powders can be so loaded up with added aminos, or synthetic ingredients that are not that great for you.
Some others that I’ve tried recently use sugar alcohols, which make you crampy and bloated.
…(cough, Clean Simple Eats, cough)…
But ISO-100 Protein sort of rides the edge of the proverbial ingredient cliff…
Staying just far enough on the side of being overall good for you.
This protein is made up of whey protein, derived from a few different sources.
Here’s the full Dymatize Protein ingredient list.
Ingredients
- Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate
- Whey Protein Isolate
- Natural and Artificial Flavor
- Salt
- Soy Lecithin
- Sucralose
- Steviol Glycosides (Stevia)
NOTES:
Honestly this is not a bad formula at all for a protein powder that tastes as good as Dymatize does.
I do need to call out that it does include both natural & artificial sweeteners (sucralose)…which, isn’t my favorite aspect of the product, but I’ll deal with it.
The thing I like most about his formula is that despite the fact that it’s not ‘all natural’… there really are not that many ingredients in it…
Meaning that this is actually a relatively clean product in the sense that it doesn’t include a whole laundry-list of additives, gums, or fillers.
So overall that makes this formula a winner in my book.
This formula is a winner in my book.”

Let’s take a look at the macros next…
Macros
Unlike the ingredient formulas, the macronutrient profiles of these protein powders are generally pretty consistent from product to product.
With a few small exceptions like Ryse Loaded protein, which was a little more caloric than others, these products are all very similar.
Here’s the full macro list for the Dymatize protein, per serving:
- Calories: 130
- Fat Calories: 20
- Cholesterol: 75mg
- Sodium: 80mg
- Total Carb: 4g
- Sugars: 3g
- Protein: 25g
NOTES
As expected, there isn’t much to call out here as far as macros…
This product is very compatible with athletes and casual fitness enthusiasts, all the way to your super choosy bodybuilding types.
The calories are low, and the protein amount is really pretty high at 25 grams per serving.
There is a little bit more sugar per serving in this product versus some others that I’ve tried…
But at 3 grams per serving, it’s really not something that I’m worried about.
So I’ll give them a solid grade on formulation.
It’s pretty good stuff.
Let’s talk Dymatize packaging.
ISO100 Protein Looks the Part.
I low-key have fallen in love with Dymatize Nutrition’s products from a packaging standpoint….
They seem to stand apart from many of the others, while generating a look that still looks legitimate, and, in it’s own way, quite classic.
I think the new re-branded Dymatize look is nice.
It’s much more American looking with it’s nice red, white, and blue color scheme..
It also looks more upscale and legitimate than the old black and silver branding.
So yeah – the looks are nice.
They navy and red are handsome without being too intimidating, while the sort of cracked ‘Dymatize’ signature font has always been dynamic to my eye.

I think they do a good job with hierarchy and label organization- making all the key information very clear…
I really like how prominent they make their flavor callout too.
The Fruity Pebbles flavor, for example, is super fun not only with the main flavor graphic, but the entire label has a consistent rainbow theme.
It’s really a nice looking tub of protein.
Alright so where does this all leave us? Should you give ISO100 protein a shot?
Is Dymatize Protein Worth the Money?
We’ve come to the most important part of this review – and that is where we decide if Dymatize protein is worth the cost.
Now for most middle, to high-end proteins, we expect a price per serving of around $1.70.
You have some variance within that, with some of the cheaper options skewing lower, and more expensive products like Promix costing up to, and even surpassing $2.00 per serving.
Depending on where you buy Dymatize has a huge impact on what price you can get.
For example, the Vitamin Shoppe, and other retailers have Dymatize priced well over $1.75 per serving…
But if you look at places like Amazon, you can get a much lower price per serving.
I personally purchase Dymatize ISO 100 on Amazon because the cost is so much cheaper, around $1.54 per scoop for the big tub.
For me, this product is an absolute steal at those prices, and one of the best value proteins on Amazon.
